Volunteer Experience Lead
Role Summary
The Volunteer Experience Lead is responsible for cultivating a positive, organized, and engaging volunteer environment within the organization. This individual oversees volunteer recruitment, onboarding, retention, recognition, and internal culture-building initiatives to ensure volunteers feel supported, valued, and connected to the organization’s mission.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining volunteer satisfaction and operational sustainability by helping create meaningful pathways for engagement, growth, and leadership development.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate volunteer recruitment initiatives and outreach

Support onboarding and orientation of new volunteers

Develop volunteer engagement and retention strategies

Maintain volunteer records, scheduling systems, and communication channels

Serve as a primary point of contact for volunteer concerns and support

Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and mission-driven volunteer culture

Organize volunteer appreciation and recognition initiatives

Assist with volunteer training, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities

Collaborate with departmental leads to identify volunteer needs and placement opportunities

Monitor volunteer participation and provide feedback to leadership regarding team dynamics and operational gaps

Impact of the Role
The Volunteer Experience Lead helps ensure volunteers remain motivated, connected, and empowered within the organization, directly contributing to long-term sustainability and community impact. This role will especially work to further develop and support the Ambassador Program and its volunteers.
