Grants & Recognition Lead

Role Summary

The Grants & Recognition Lead is responsible for supporting the organization’s sustainability and visibility through grant coordination, funding research, award submissions, and recognition initiatives. This role helps identify opportunities that strengthen the organization’s growth, credibility, and community impact while ensuring the contributions of volunteers, partners, donors, and community members are meaningfully acknowledged.

The individual in this role contributes to both organizational development and culture-building by helping secure external support and fostering an environment of appreciation and recognition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant, scholarship, sponsorship, and funding opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission

  • Assist in drafting, coordinating, and organizing grant applications and supporting documents

  • Maintain grant calendars, deadlines, and submission tracking systems

  • Collect organizational data, impact metrics, testimonials, and supporting materials for applications and reports

  • Collaborate with leadership and program teams to gather information required for funding proposals

  • Monitor and support reporting requirements related to awarded grants or sponsorships

  • Identify and coordinate award and recognition opportunities for the organization, volunteers, leadership, and community partners

  • Develop internal recognition initiatives that celebrate volunteer contributions and organizational achievements

  • Assist with appreciation campaigns, certificates, acknowledgements, and recognition communications

  • Support development of systems that document organizational accomplishments, milestones, and impact stories

Preferred Qualities

  • Strong writing, research, and organizational skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong time management abilities

  • Ability to synthesize information clearly and professionally

  • Appreciation for community recognition and relationship-building

  • Experience in grant writing, academic writing, administration, fundraising, or nonprofit work considered an asset
