Communications & Social Media Lead
Role Summary
The Communications & Social Media Lead is responsible for supporting the organization’s public presence, storytelling, and digital engagement efforts. This role helps amplify the organization’s mission, initiatives, events, and impact through strategic communication, social media management, and creative content development.
The individual in this role serves as a bridge between the organization and the broader community by helping maintain a professional, engaging, and mission-aligned brand identity.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage social media content across organizational platforms

Create engaging digital content including graphics, video archive, captions, announcements, and campaign materials

Assist in promoting organizational events, initiatives, partnerships, and fundraising campaigns

Support brand consistency across communications and public-facing materials

Coordinate photography, videography, testimonials, and storytelling initiatives highlighting organizational impact

Monitor audience engagement and respond to inquiries/messages when appropriate

Collaborate with leadership and program teams to communicate updates and achievements

Support development of newsletters, media releases, and promotional materials

Track engagement analytics and provide recommendations for communication growth strategies

Maintain professionalism and sensitivity in all public communications
Preferred Qualities

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Creativity and visual storytelling ability

Familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling tools

Graphic design, photography, or video editing experience considered an asset
